Ringed

So, here’s a lyric-in-progress I’m working on for a performance at Olive It Cafe at the end of the month.  To be played, and sung, jauntily.

I will be your blushing bride
I’ll hold up my side
I’ll get it wrong, maybe I’ll get it right
I will be your blushing bride
Standing here, so pure and white

March the aisle
in my bare feet
Ringed like Saturn
and yours, demure and sweet.

Crushing flowers
One final kiss
A contract sealed
across my lips

I will be your blushing bride
There are things I cannot hide
Look at me, my daddy’s pride,
Glowing like uranium-dye.
I will be your blushing bride

I will be I will be
I will be the girl you never see

Throw bouquets, throw the rice
Eat the cake rejoice rejoice
I have vowed to be for now
Yours.
Yours.

I will be your blushing bride
Telling all my finest lies
I will be your blushing bride
You know I love you on the inside inside
I will be your blushing bride
Standing here at your side
Dressed to be so pure and white

I will be
You know I’ll be
A model girl, demure and sweet
Crushing petals with bare feet
